P.T. – the demo to the since cancelled Silent Hills – took the internet by storm. Released in August 2014, the demo was meant to hype up an upcoming Silent Hill game staring Norman Reedus. Although Konami said that the final version of Silent Hills would not look to same, fans saw the demo as evidence of a great game to come. Unfortunately, due to a falling out with Konami, Kojima parted ways with the studio. Thus leaving P.T. and Silent Hills dead in the water.
Because P.T. was only released as a downloadable demo for the PS4, it was fairly easy for Konami to pull the title from the PlayStation Store and make it impossible to reinstall. However, those lucky enough to have downloaded it ahead of time (over 1 million) could keep playing it. This caused PS4 consoles with P.T. installed to be listed for hundreds of dollars on eBay and other online storefronts.
Where Can I Play P.T.?
So, aside from purchasing a PS4, how can you play P.T.? In September 2024, about 10 years from its initial release, user DrJones20 published a full remake on Dreams with VR compatibility. As of writing, this is still a viable option. Many YouTubers have recorded their playthroughs and overall it looks to be a 1-1 remake. Play it for yourself on Dreams or check it out below:
